The Tamil Nadu Uniformed Service Recruitment Board is a constituted body to select suitable personnel in various categories for
the Police Department, Fire & Rescue Services and Prison Department.
It conducts entrance examinations that pave the way for your recruitment in the above departments. Clearing these examinationsopens many avenues for a job aspirant. The syllabus of these examinations varies according to the posts. For clearing all ambiguity, the TNUSRB examinations have a different syllabus and a different eligibility criterion, which must be carefully checked before filling out the examination forms. The forms are available online immediately after the notification of such recruitment.
➤ Sub-Inspector
➤ Constable
All future Sub-Inspectors of Police (Men & Women), Police Constables (Men & Women), Firemen, Jail Warders (Men & Women) will have to clear the TNUSRB examinations. The qualification for each of these posts is extremely specific and has both an upperand a lower age limit. The qualifications required are normally same for both men and women; however there might be a little variation in the levels of physical fitness requirement, such as height measurement, etc. An avid knowledge of Tamil is a prerequisite for all of the aforementioned posts.
➤ Age Limit:
Upper age limit is 28 years where as lower age is restricted to 20 years. Age relaxation is granted to reserved category candidates.
➤ Educational qualification:
The applicant must have completed a degree from any recognized university or institute.
III. Physical Measurement Test:
Physical Measurement Test comprises of height and chest measurement for men and height measurement for women. The minimum eligibility requirement is as follows:

No physical measurement test is applicable for ex-personnel of central paramilitary force as well as departmental quota applicants
The selection process of TNUSRB followed by four stages listed Under below. written examination, certificate verification, physical measurement test, endurance test, physical efficiency test, viva voce. Those who clear the written test successfully shall be eligible to further stages in recruitment process.
Candidates who declared successful at Physical Measurement Test will be called for endurance test. Open quota and 20% departmental quota:

➤ The duration of the Written Examination is 3 hrs. Questions will be in objective type. Each questions carries 1/2 marks.
